SD, BRT and intermingle explained
SD, BRT and SBRT describe lustre: semi-dull yarn has a little titanium dioxide added for a soft, matt look; bright and super bright have little or none and shine. HIM, SIM and NIM describe how tightly the filaments are knotted together by air: high, semi or non intermingle.

Lustre: SD, BRT, SBRT
Semi-dull (SD) is the everyday lustre for sarees and dress material. Bright (BRT) and super bright (SBRT) are used for shine: satin, festive fabric, embroidery grounds. Full dull is used where no shine at all is wanted.
Intermingle: HIM, SIM, NIM
Intermingling uses short air jets to knot the filaments together at intervals, so the yarn behaves as one end in weaving without twisting. High intermingle (HIM) is easiest to weave without sizing; semi (SIM) is a middle ground; non intermingle (NIM) keeps the softest, most open hand.
How to choose
Tell us the fabric and loom: for water-jet and air-jet looms without sizing, HIM is usual; for a softer hand, SIM or NIM. For lustre, match the look you want.
