North of Surat, at Kim, we twist polyester crape yarn and texture air-textured yarn on our own machines, so the qualities our customers weave month after month stay the same.
Crape twisting
Polyester filament is twisted to the high turns per metre that crepe and georgette need, in S or Z direction, and set so it runs cleanly on the loom. Regulars are 50/48 and 75/72 semi-dull crape. More about crape yarn.
Air-texturising
Filament is overfed through air jets that loop and lock the filaments, giving the bulk and dry hand of spun yarn with filament strength. 110 denier ATY is our everyday quality. More about ATY.
Packed and dispatched
Yarn leaves Kim on cones, in cartons, for customers in Surat and across India. Each carton is recorded by quality, lot and weight, so a repeat order can be matched to the lot before it.
